Went here for my birthday. My mum used to take me to the Wimpy as a child for my birthday and I felt a bit nostalgic so decided to go for my lunch on my birthday. Food still excellent as was the manager. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Would recommend.

We travelled down from newcastle for a break in Liverpool and a trip across to Birkenhead for a whimpy was an absolute must, and it did not disappoint! The food was freshly cooked, served hot and on actual plates! The chips were incredible, you definitely don’t get chips that hot or tasty at McDonald’s. There was four of us and we all had a double bacon and cheese quarter pounder and a milkshake and we could not fault it. The lush gent working there was the epitome of tradition, he was friendly, welcoming, happy to chat. We had two birthdays in our party and he even played a personalised happy birthday song. This man and whimpy is what more of society needs. I only wish I could remember his name but he was an absolute treasure. Look after him and never let him go!! Our nearest whimpy is Huddersfield but we’d definitely go a bit further to Birkenhead purely based on his service. Or if you could open one closer to the north east, we’d be over the moon and probably visit all the time
