Having experienced Wimpy of the 1970s and the last time in 90s I set my sights low for this resurrected burger chain. Nicely welcomed by the staff. Restaurant is clean and very presentable. I ordered the double cheeseburger, fries and banana thick milkshake. My daughter had the crispy chicken burger, sweetcorn and salted caramel thick milkshake. The shakes arrived first and they were bangingly good, if anything too good as they are incredibly sweet so if you're diabetic be careful. Next up the food arrived in under ten minutes on proper plates. The burger was well presented and constructed, not slapped together. The burger was not as juicy as say Five Guys, but tasted like a McDonald's but a better healthier version. The bun isn't your ordinary sesame seeded bun but a wholemeal bun with cracked oats on top. Basically the burger was good. My daughter said the chicken burger was the best she's ever had.
Had Wimpy been as good as this in the 70s it would have stuck around in every town.
The restaurant itself reminded me of a cross between a Little Chef and an American diner; welcoming, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Well done. I'd definitely go again and hope to see more of these.

The best customer service in a restaurant bar far, i don't get the 1 star reviews people put on here .never a 1 star me and my mum will be back again and again, see u soon ....

I havenāt been to a Wimpy for years and we were excited to try.
It looked like the design and decor of the classic Wimpy I remember.
On the menu you can upgrade your cheeseburger with another 2 patties or 3 patties. The bit I donāt get is that the cost per patty is higher when you buy 3. Odd.
The service was very functional. No personality.
Otherwise, weād probably go back.
